About Phi Sigma Pi

ΦΣΠ is a Co-ed National Honor Fraternity that combines the elements of an honor society, social fraternity, and service organization. This mixture of scholarship, fellowship, and leadership creates a vibrant and dynamic organization.Phi Sigma Pi was founded at Central Missouri State University on February 14, 1916, by E.L. Hendricks, C.A. Phillips, and C.H. McClure. The Fraternity became national in 1921 when a second chapter was founded at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. The National Fraternity has since evolved from an honorary professional fraternity to a professional education fraternity, and then, in 1966, to an honor fraternity for all disciplines. Phi Sigma Pi became coeducational in 1977.

About Our Chapter

The Beta Omicron Chapter of Phi Sigma Pi is located on the campus of the University of North Carolina Wilmington in the beach town of Wilmington, NC. With the sand and waves lying less than 5 miles from the campus, you can imagine how many a summer day is spent! The chapter was established on October 30, 1994. Being a new chapter, we are lucky to have many local alumni to help the development of the chapter. Since its inception, Beta Omicron has striven to become both a campus leader as well as take an active role in serving the local Wilmington community. The chapter has done this through upholding the Tripod of Phi Sigma Pi: the three ideals of scholarship, leadership, and fellowship.
